Adventures from the Field Episodes 5 & 6

Recently got back from my annual detecting trip to Minneapolis. As many of you know here, my cousin Mike (Michelob) and I try to get together a couple times a year for a week of detecting and trying to beat the fun hunts we had here in Missouri in the spring was going to be hard, but we might have topped it once again.

I went up there with 2 goals. First was to find at least 15 silver coins and Second, to find a Standing Liberty Quarter (my last one was almost 15 years ago). Thankfully, both goals were not only met but exceeded as you will see by the picture and videos.

We ended up getting in about 5 full days of hunting and about 2 hours on another day. Several of the hunts we were joined by fellow forum member Crispytoo who was a great guy to hunt and hang out with. Overall it was a trip I will always remember and just makes me look forward that much more to our next hunt.

Thankfully by body held up pretty well after going almost 5 months without detecting through late spring and all summer. It was sure good to be back out again.

Hopefully Michelob will post his finds soon too. He did beat me for the week btw, and was HOT on the big silver

Nice videos and a great array of silver. I hunt north of the cities a couple of times a year and really enjoy hunting up there. Pleasant temps in the summer and great people. Very nice finds. HH jim tn
