Adjustable sensitivity on pin pointers... A good feature?

I have the mine lab pro pointer with the adjustable sensitivity feature. I bought it when i purchased my explorer. This is NOT a stab at other companies pin pointers.

I was watching some you-tube videos comparing the mine lab to the Garret and a few other companies. On most of the videos i saw, the commentators kept asking why would you want a pin pointer that can be adjusted?. Why would you not want it at the highest sensitivity? I began to question that as well until i used it in the field. When used in full power it will sound off way before you get on top of the target, requiring more time to find it. I could not zero in on the target quickly until i brought the sensitivity down. It was then that i realized the beauty and NEED to be able to lower the sensitivity to actually get it zeroed in. I think its a great feature. I have found that once it sounds off loud just keep pressing the button down one press at a time while holding the pointer still and you will locate the target very quickly. What do the rest of you think? Any comments? Do other companies have this feature?

I have just purchased a Garrett pinpoint probe to use with the SE. When I am using another detector I use a Vibra probe down the beach which I find great for what I use it for. The other day I took the Garrett down to the beach to test it and found it much to powerful in the rock pool holes so I switched it off and continued with the Vibra as it only detects on the point.
So if the Garrett had a sensitivity control it would have worked better but I fully expect the Garrett to work better on land.

I adjust the sens on my ProFind all the time. It can be great for finding those small targets in a hand full of dirt.
