Additional Coils for the V3i

Hi all,

I was looking at some additional coils for the V3i the Whites 6x10 DD Eclipse for prospecting and the EXcelerator 15X12" SEF-BUTTERFLY COIL FORv3/v3i/ from Kellyco. Any thoughts or coments would be great.

Just remember the Excelerator coils are not V rated. This could limit your RX setting.

Check KCo's back order status on the bigger coils before you buy... I waited for so long for the large one I finally gave up and called them to send the 6x10 eclipse. I haven't had a chance to use it yet and beware they don't send the hardware mount kit with either their coils or the extra rod you may have ordered for quick exchange. The kit is less than 2 bucks and now I'm waiting for it... silliness LOL.

You will not go wrong with the 6x10....make sure and get a good amount of feedback before springing for that 15x12. (I can't remember much opinion on them.)

I like the SEF 12"x10". It is a bit quieter than the stock D2, covers a bit more ground, goes a bit deeper and is just as light. I know people using the 15" SEF say it is hard on their elbow and shoulders and is not as sensitive to tiny targets.

My SEF is my default coil and has been on almost consistently since November.

yea I tried to get one from KCo's, I saw your post right after I called them to cancel the order. If I had read it first I might have held out for the super 12

I have heard the 12X15 is not much deeper than the 10X12 yet much heavier. I sure like the 10X12 but have never tried the 15", I don't have the Popeye arms for it...........
