Adding another Tesoro

JMC

New member
After much thought and study decided today that adding a Vaquero would be a nice idea. For the areas I normally hunt it should be a great addition to the Compadre. Made the call to Kellyco in Orlando and it's likely already on the way up.

You won't be disappointed. It's one awesome machine and will become your favorite detector once you learn how to use it.

I found that Killer B's Wasp headphones works best with mine.

Good deal, pleas let us know how you like it .

I'll second that Killer B's work great on Tesoros

You are going to love the Vaquero...it has great depth and it hits hard on nickels, brass, copper, lead , and gold.
It isn't quite as deep as the Tejon, but it does run a bit smoother. Make sure you get the small 5.75" coil for it.......HH

I just got my first Vaquero about two weeks ago and been out twice now with good results...... what a machine. You are going to like it

Was going to add another Tesoro, like the one we have all been waiting for.
Now not sure at all, after spotting this one coming out.
Sorry to spring this on you guys.

If that's a Tesoro i vaguely heard of something new coming out.......is that it?

It's a Macro "racer" another made in turkey machine, does not interest me at all, gimme american made:usaflag:

It's not the machine that counts, it's where you use it.

Some interesting hype going on about the upcoming release of it.
Think it looks sharp, they may change the color to black/grey if customers dictate that's what they want.
To me it looks like a nice compact, lightweight unit that not make the joints ache.
Going to wait and see what field test show. It has to be as fast or faster in target separation, recover between close targets
than my Bandido. Not bothered by EMI like a Tesoro. As deep or deeper than a Tesoro. And better at unmasking in real world hunting and
not just in above ground unmasking tests. I am happy with my detector combination I currently own, see no real reason to change it.
But, everyone needs a new toy now and then..............lets see what Tesoro still has up its sleeve.
By the way, don't really need flashing LEDs and a vibrating handle..........................

Sven,

I know what forum you are reading the "hype" at, the NASA Space Center forum. There are two big name metal detectorists on that forum that do field tests of the newest metal detectors and all of members of that forum buy or pass on what those two have to say about the newest on the block machines. I have a lot of respect for those two guys but the thing is, they are members of the detector of the week club, who can keep up with the latest and greatest metal detectors on the planet. One week it might be the XP Deus, next a Nokta, Macro, Minelab, F75 XVL version 20, G2, F19 etc. etc. etc. ad nausium.

Randy, you're right, they seem to be all over the board on what they like from week to week. It's hard to keep up with the newest and latest toys that are out there unless you're a dealer buying and selling. I've found that a great location to detect is more important than what you swing. I've seen a $160 Compadre and $255 Silver µMax clean house at some of those good sites.

With that said, I do like trying different detectors.:detecting: :)

Guy's we have high jacked the OP's original thread enough, this is the Tesoro Forum and if you want to talk about foreign made detectors, there are specific forums to talk about them. Sven, get a clue, this is not the AKA or Macro forum, Tesoros are made in the good old USA. Just my blunt opinion.

Just goes to show you how dedicated Tesoro forum members are..........every now and then I like throwing something different into the Tesoro forum
to wake people up. I apologize for the posts that seem to ride on the border of being censored....etc......here.

Overall, think like many others Tesoro still puts out some of the best performing detectors at prices most can afford. You can own and collect a whole
bunch of used ones for the price of one of the new fangled bells and whistle machines. Cutlass II should be here within a week.............

OK guys, will only do Tesoro talk on this forum. Kick me in the butt, if I start to veer off.

I luv to read the Tesoro forums because the guys are so loyal and have a great spirit. I own a Tesoro Lobo in my collection and have made finds from gold nuggets in AZ to minie' balls in Ms. A great machine and still ticking after 16 years.
