...thanks Mike...I appreciate your call and updating everyone for me. I still don't have my laptop up and running but found a business center in the hospital where I can get on-line for a few minutes.
Brian's surgery went better than expected and the surgeon was able to remove A LOT of tumor. He said his airway will be opened up at least twice the size it was before the surgery and he should be able to prononce words better. He will still need the trach because we know the tumors will grow back. He only needed one unit of blood.
He will be in ICU through tomorrow. His face and throat have swollen so much he can't breathe through his mouth and he just had a panic attack thinking he was suffocating. We explained to him how he was getting plenty of oxygen through the trach and finally he settled down. They brought him some more pain meds and gave him a sedative to help him relax and get some sleep. Carol will stay with him in ICU tonight and I will sleep in a small room thay have for parents staying overnight.
I'm about worn out...time to grab a few winks...
Thanks for all of your prayers...
