added a Compadre to the collection

Well with all the talk about the Compadre, I have been watching the adds.

Got out to the little play ground two houses down from me for a 20 minute test spin. Belt buckle, thimble, tire balance weight, two other pieces of lead, a penny, a nickel, a quarter and the junk.

The nickel was at about 5 inches and hit hard. I could raise the coil about 3 inches off the ground before I started to loose the beep on it.

Notice it isn't a standard Compadre. No problems pinpointing with the 9 x 8 coil either.

After a very short trial I can already see that this will be a nice tot lot detector.

I think it looks nice seeing the spoke coil and no speaker panel on the Compadre. Gives it an unusual clean touch - I like it :detecting:

awsome now you got a good machine , as far as pinponting - the 8x9 coil is a wonder of tesoroes enginering i love that coil and its deep

Looks awsome.

I'd love one with a 9X8 coil.

Gotta love those little buggars.

I have two Compadres and don't intend to get rid of either.

That's how much I love this machine.

Those who don't want to mess with a cheep toy like tha

Compadre are tha ones missin out.

Happy Huntin,

= but hey, what works - works.

Note the small inner loop on the 9X8 coil. Thats the receive section.
Because it is small, it pinpoints and separates well in DISC mode.
It also makes it important to overlap your sweeps.

Hey TV,, Glad to see that machine doing its job,,,I think did a good job putting that coil on there,,Good luck with it,,

Tom,
Looks like it came from the factory with the 9 x 8. The strain relief fit around the housing is spot in. Thanks again!
If the ground doesn't freeze by next weekend, I hope to get more than 20 minutes with her!

Tabdog,
In a posting originally by Gunnar titled "I want to put a 3x18 cleansweep on my compadre" on Dec 5, 2008, JB(MS) posted a reply with an article on how to change coils.
