add pinpoint toggle switch to cz 5 ?

I was thinking of changing my pinpoint button to a toggle switch on the side of detector because i chest mount due to weight. I use 10" coil which is kinda heavy.
I think it is a simple two wire switch. Does anyone know if it's a pain to get to the pinpoint button? Has anyone else done this?

take care Jerry

Never heard of any but perhaps one of our modders can chime in...I do know for some reason the pinpoint takes a lot of battery juice and may indeed lessen your battery time. Also would void your warranty if you have a unit still under warranty....

Link has a picture of one finished but no details. I have not taken mine apart far enough to see what doing this would entail. Have not seen him post in a long time so don't know if he is still reading the forum and may be available to help or not.

No different than doing the same mod on Tesoros.

Just desolder the wires from the push button switch and resolder to the toggle switch. It's either on or off.
CZ's are easy to take apart. Just remove the two screws on the rear by the coil connector and everything just slides out the
front as a complete unit. Remove the two wire from the push button switch and solder to a toggle. May have to make an extension
wire if the wire is not long enough to reach the toggle.

They make all sorts of little project boxes you can attach to the bottom of the CZ to hold the toggle.

And I believe you can still get CZ5-6 empty control box housings and faceplates from Fisher. You would have to contact Felix.
