It appears to be an all metal VLF. Also appears to be a very low power toy. If it can run 360 hours on one 9 V battery, it will not get very deep.

This is what Adams told me about it. The AX777 works on the "Continuous Wave" (CW) principal at a frequency of 23 Khz. It is very good on all soil/ground types. The detector is primarily designed for EOD and IED/crime scene investigation detection in military and police type applications.
