what is the best mode and settings to hunt older coins with the ace 250? found alot of clads with this little mean machine so far but no oldies.am I missing something with it or what? please help ! thanks

There are no special settings. You can't find treasure where treasure ain't. Old coins don't grow like weeds. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Keep looking, you'll find some.

thanks guys for the info .I traded my classic id for the 250.love it so far just alot more machine than im used to.with my old id had to listen very close to slight sounds to find oldies is it the same with 250 or do all coins no matter what the depth ring loud and clear?thanks again!!!

Bill, I sent you an email Tuesday about a product you have tried. Please email me so I can ask some questions. R.L. Johnson

The old ones will belltone too!! I found 4 wheats a couple weeks back at 5-6" in all-metal and they sounded off strong!! Probably would have belltoned in Coins mode too.

loud and clear, that's the precessor making the desision for you and BANG! it cranks out a full volume bell-tone, normal tone, or iron (low) signal.
In some ways it's gret, but as any detector can be fooled, that LOUD! bell-tone isn't always what we'd like it to be.
If I were to wish for two additional features on the 250 it would be a "real audio" signal where the volume gave a clue to depth, and the second would be a backlight for the display. Of course my wishlist could expand quite a bit past that, but those two would be great additions to an already great little machine.
