Ace400 and sun Ray probe compatible?

Hank68

Well-known member
thanks for any info giving ,

Without ever having tried it on a 400, I don't see why the Sun Ray YF-1 would not work.

I have a Sun Ray YF-1 and for years I used it on an ACE 250 & ACE 350 but never an ACE 400. I used it up until the original Garrett Black PinPointer came out.

The search coils are compatible across all the ACE machines, I reason the YF-1 must also be compatible.

The YF-1 is simply a switch box that (with the flip of the switch) connects either the ACE coil directly to the detector OR connects it's own hand held (motion) coil directly to the detector. The YF-1 input and output connectors are compatible with all the ACE machines and also the GTP and GTAX series machines.

Hank,

I'm Curious....

Is there a particular reason that you would want a Sun Ray over a Garrett Pro Pointer (either Black or Orange) ?

I have in my ace350 for several years and like it, like using a 1" coil with full usage of your detector settings , excellent piece of equipment on the machine,

I like the views on the Garrett's PP, I'll get on soon I've always been a garretts fan , matter of fact that's the brand I started using in 1989, I just like the ace series detectors, and my sea hunter, HH
