Hello to all..I am new here..I purchased an ACE 250 before Christmas and started to see if I could use it. I have several questions, but for now I'll just ask one. The 250 finds a target in Coin Mode, I use the Pinpoint to better locate the target, The opening in the center of the coil is about 3 inches in diameter..I look at the curser to see that I get the full strength..When I dig I don't find my target..I re-check with the 250 and the target seemes to have moved. Sometimes I spend 5-6 minutes digging for a target and most of the time do not find anything. Please Help

Need more info. Tell us exactly what you are doing. There are a number of things that could be wrong.
I'm going to purchase one of these instruments to play with and haven't yet.
Did you buy from a local dealer? If so there would be your best place to start. If not you may need to give us some more info.
Are you reading your manual from front to back. Please don't take affence at this question. You would be amzed at the folks who don't

When you locate your target scan side to side until you get the strongest signal then drag the coil straight back until the instant the signal stops. Watch the signal intensity and jockey the coil till it reads straight across. The target will be under the center tip of the inside oval on the coil - not in the middle of the opening. This method is dead on.
This coil pinpoints like a DD coil.

Here is another way to pinpoint.
The X method.
Go from side stoping when you have the loudest signal.
Imagine a line down the exact center of the coil.
The target is somewhere along that line.
Now turn the coil 90 degrees and sweep the center of the coil down that imaganiary line.
The loudest signal puts the target dead in the center of the coil.
Dont worry, as you learn more about your machine and with some experience you will learn to pinpoint in the discrim mode and not even use that pinpoint button much.
