Ace Tot lot finds

grinin

New member
Well after fighting with the ACE at a few older, heavily trash infested sites (and already pounded by other MD'ers) I decided I needed to try something a little easier for a newbie.

So I went by my local wood chip tot lot and experienced a world of difference. After a little less than an hour I pulled a bunch of clad including my first two nickels. The nickels produced a extremely short consistant beep by comparison to all the foil trash that Id's as nickel. Note: I only dug about half the foil items in the pic as the rest were simply picked up off the surface. This is all the trash I dug which is an incredibly small amount compared to the first sites I had tried.

Pinpointing was also far easier when there were not 10 pieces of trash laying around the actual target.

Btw, the large coin is a Sac $1. Woo hoo!

Looks like your getting a handle on it Grinin. It's great to start having some success. The more you use the Ace, The more your confidence in it will grow. Actually, I personally think that it's the best detector on the market for hunting around Tot lots. Just drop the sensitivity down to 1 or 2 bars and see how many finds that you can make close to the equipment! You can make finds that other detector's simply can't make. Often, you will find, that if you can't make any finds out in the open, then try getting in close to the metal. You will be surprised.
Mick Evans.
