Ace sniper 4.5 coil

I am considering getting the sniper coil for my Ace 250. I am told that it is for shallow targets in high trash areas. I was wondering if anybody has expierence with the coil and what kind of depth they were getting. HH Dennis in Idaho

Expect a clean hit up to 4". Rule of thumb on Garretts is: Size of coil pretty much equals what kinda depth you can expect. 4" coil=4" depth. This will vary a little, but that's what you can reasonably expect. Great little coils, though, if you hit a real trashy spot. Really gets in between the trash and gets the loot out. A good investment for your arsenal.

It's a must for trashy areas and getting close to metal playground equipment. It will get 5-6 inches depending on conditions.

I love my sniper! It's all been said before....

It allows me to easily find additional good stuff in areas where the larger coil causes a lot of frustrating trash digging.

It's also great for getting under those pipe framed or metal picnic tables, up tight to playground equipment and fences where the stock coil doesn't work well at all.

Two thumbs up!!!
I have all the coils for the 250, and the sniper
is quickly becoming my favorite one for plunkin
coins. Sure, it doesn't cover a lot of area, but it's
still easier, and probably a bit faster as you avoid
the trash hassles to a great extent, and pinpointing is
fast and easy. The coil hits hard on coins, and is good
to 6 inches or so. Only about 1.5 inches less than the
stock coil. I have the 9x12 coil also, and it is pretty
good, but in my usual areas it can be a hassle, cuz it
often sees more than one target at a time, and this can
make pinpointing take longer. IE: I seem to have a good
bit of med to deep iron objects in the ground, and half
the time I'm sniffing a coin with the 9x12, I'm also
dodging the effects of the nearby iron, which wants to
lure my pinpointing away from the coin, or overlap, which
takes time to weed which is which.. Not near as much as
that with the small sniper. I can come along with it, and
catch the coins, pop, pop, pop, without all the pinpointer
hassles. So I've pretty much relegated the big coil for
more open hunting like cleaner fields, etc, or if I want
to check a place I've top cleaned for deeper stuff.
If you are in busy or trashy places, the sniper is worth
it's weight in gold. And it hits harder and deeper than
you might think for a 4.5 inch coil. IE: it beats the usual
dia = appx depth rule.. It's 4.5 inches, but it hits to about
6..

Yeah the Sniper goes much deeper than it should but that's the way it works in the world of coils. Some are hot some are not.
