Ace coil question-any 10x14 EXCelerator users?

Well, I got sucked into searching fee bay for ace stuff for my 350, and see that there is a 10x14 DD coil available, as well as a 15x12 SEF butterfly coil. Would I get any more depth with either of these? I think I am just wanting to buy extra toys... just got my propointer in today, and ordering a sniper coil tonight.

Can't have too many toys!:wiggle:Yeah, you'll definitely get more depth because they are larger search coils. I've always been a fan of the Detech/Excelerator search coils. I got that 10"x14" DD Excelerator for my wife to use on her Ace 250 back when it came out. She doesn't like to use it because she's not a fan of larger search coils. I play around with it sometimes on my old GTAx1250. It works great and it is much lighter than the Garrett 10"x14" DD search coils.:garrett::detecting:
I highly recommend the newer 6"x8" SEF or"Butterfly" search coil that KellyCo sells for the Ace 250. I got one for my wife when they came out and she loves it. It is small and lightweight. It get's better depth than any other search coil of comparable size.
Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

I bought the 14 inch DD for my Grand Master Hunter a couple years ago. I really liked everything about the coil except for the weight. I had rotator cuff surgery a few years back and it was just too heavy for me to swing for extended periods. That probably would not bother a lot of people but it is an issue for me.

I bought one 2 years ago and haven't taken it off since. It was a little heavier at first till I got used to it. Find lots more stuff with it.

It sounds like that might be the route I take. I don't mind a little extra weight on the detector. I had been planning to buy a minelab, but if I can get comparable depth with a 350, it only makes sense to save the money and add an AT pro to the collection!

I have the 10 x 14. It works good. Pinpointing was an issue for me at first. I put a little piece of tape on top at the front of the coil. This helped me pinpoint to the front of the coil. Great for open areas. I use the pro now it is a little smaller and is great. I cant wait until I get the sniper coil for it! Good luck what ever way you go.
