Ace 400?

Would some of you guys, and ladies- please tell me how much depth you are getting with these units? I have seen the video and I know it is fast recovery, I also saw one testing it on a 7 inch quarter. But I would like to know what kind of actual in the field depth you are getting. Not just coins either - that means anything that you have dug and how deep it was, horseshoe, beer can, coke can etc. Thanks

Hi James,

It's area geographic soil dependent.

Hot soils less depth.

Mild soils - greater.

My soil is benign to mild to slightly mineralised.

I'm getting good depths on [ single coins ] from 7" to 10" depending on size, density and metal. Good depths on large copper and bronze coins.
Going deeper to 12" on larger metals but at times getting deep iron fooled by Discrimination and Iron Audio.
A few copper coins came up from 8" inches with 'scratchy' signals
BUT: on the target edges on coil passes, coins didn't get "chopped" where other targets including ferrous ones did.
It's all in the audio just like many other detectors.
Beaches were different for me and running smoothly between Sens 5 - 6, small quarter size coins came up from between 2 - 5 inches. But I'd expect to better that at times by perhaps two inches more?
Hope this helps.

Des D

These are air tests, and show the metal detection maximum potential for depth of the various targets. The depth will vary, depending on the soil mineralization at your location. The coil used was the standard 7 x 10 concentric coil that comes shipped with the detector. The ACE 400 should do a bit better using the 8 1/2 x 11 inch DD coil.
