Ace 350 pinpointing

Just got my Ace 350 a week ago and am having some trouble pinpointing. My question is. When pinpointing, Is it normal to hear the steady tone whether it be soft or loud constantly? I mean, I can point the Ace at the sky and I will still hear a tone. It does get very loud when I'm on a coin, but the tone is constantly on. Is this normal or should it be quiet when I'm not on any metal, coin or otherwise? Thanks.

Mine started doing that, along with the target ID being off. I sent it back to garrett, and got it back 3 weeks later. No letter telling me what they found, no packing slip, no emails... but it seems to work ok now. No idea what they did. I kinda felt like they should have at least let me know if it was a bad coil or something... I guess I can't complain though, as they did it free of charge.

This is just a guess but try resetting it to factory settings . Hold the button down for five seconds. The go to your menu and turn down your threshold until its hardly heard if at all. I don't own a 350 just assuming it has a threshold adjustment. Good luck

Ya know, if you're on a wet sand salt water beach, the pinpoint button will signal anywhere on the wet sand.

Im having the same issue along with mine will read dime quarter and ill dig up iron. guess i need to contact them.
