Hi just wondering how is the ACE250 is at beaches,i live in Los Angeles also how's the
excellerator DD coil.................thanks

250 does well at the beach if you keep the sensitivity adjusted to the conditions and stay out of the wet salt sand. I'm currently field testing the Excellerator and so far it seems to do well but I haven't spent enough time with it yet.

I use my Ace 250 at the beach all the time. As others have said, it does well in the dry sand but will freak out in the wet sand or in the water due to the salt mineralization. If you do go near the water, keep the sensitivity down to 3-4 bars.

As for the excellerator DD coil, I just got mine delivered today. I plan on being out on Sunday to test it at the beach. If I remember I'll try to post my thoughts.

My only other advice is that if you haven't yet purchased the Ace 250 and plan on using it at the beach, you may want to save up for a detector that can go in the water, as most of the valuable finds are there. I know I wish I had waited.
