Ace 250

I am new to this hobby and would like to buy a descent entry level detector. The comments on this forum indicate the ACE 250 would be a good choice. So I am wondering about the Garrett customer support? What has been your experience in this area? I would like to sometimes use the detector at the beach(ocean). Is the Ace 250 effective in the beach environment? Finally, I see that some people have been able to purchase the Ace 250 for around $200 new. Where can you get it at this price? I only see them advertised for $250. Thanks for any advise you can give.

I got mine through www.metaldetector.com. It was 199.95.

1) It is made by Garrett, which has been making detectors for 41 years.
2) They have built their reputation by backing up their products. Their service is GREAT!
3) The little extras, such as depth indication, target type probability, various programs, notching system can all be had with other makes of machines with at least 2 x the price.
4) It is so easy to use....you can put it together out of the box and start finding coins immediately.
5) Made in USA, serviced in USA and designed with USA coins in mind
6) You wont't get another make of detector with so many simple extras at such a low price.
Hope this helps! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
But, whatever machine you buy, learn it well and it will find you lots of treasures.

Garrett makes great products and customer service is really excellent. You can find the 250 for $199.00 from Kellyco and dealers on Ebay under metal detector for two that i can think of. It is a great choice.

No kidding, I was looking around, For the price you simply cant beat it. I'm still getting used to mine. I have had all kinds of other detectors, and I always have liked Garrett equipment.
