Ace 250 -vs- Sovereign GT

Dang

SIMPLE! The Ace 250 is a pleasure to use and man was I glad I brought it along on my first run with a Minelab Sovereign GT I picked up. Learning to use that Sov is gonna take me years. So after a few hours with that this morning I just couldn't handle it any longer. Lucky for me I had my trusty Ace 250 with me. So simple. So light. So friendly!
Well Im off to the Sovereign GT forum now for some bitching. Talk to ya later gang.

Yes. Yes it is. BIG difference. But I heard almost as many good things about the SovGT as I heard about the Mighty Ace 250. So I'm gonna stick with it.
And by golly, I already have in my mind a whole new bunch of cartoons for Sovereign users after just one day of trying to learn to use it!
I can tell ya this. It's got a hell of a learning curve!

Going through the same situation with an X-Terra 70, Dang. And it's not as complex as the GT:nerd:. After a session with it, I'm so happy to get back into the "Garrett Comfort Zone" with my little 'ol Ace 250.

A couple of times I've talked down the X70, and really shouldn't have done that:nono:. It's me, not the detector. I apologize to ML owners and dealers:please:. They have great units; guess I'm just a Garrett kind of guy:thumbup::garrett:

Yeah go with the flow, whatever works best for you. I've been doing this 43 years and I hate a machine that requires a degree in engineering to operate. There is no rhyme or reason to make a detector that difficult to use.

Bill

The Ace 250 is a nice detector but the Sovereign will kick sand in its face at the beach. HH Ron

In just three years I've had in this order....
1st-Refunded Famous Trails (Gateway Detector. Started the whole thing.)
2nd-Used Musketeer Colt.*
(OOPS! Forgot about the Bounty Hunter Sharp shooter II )**
3rd-New Musketeer Advantage.
4th-Used Toltec 100.
5th-Used IDX Classic w/Mr Bill Mods (Stolen).
6th-Used Ace 250.*
7th-Used Lobo ST.
And now the Sovereign GT (Used)!* [Lobo ST Trade]
I've owned 8 different detectors in 3 years!
Thats more then the probes I've lost and had to have replaced during the same period.
Now heres the good part..I added up the money I blew for all these detectors and it only comes to around 850 bucks. Not to bad.

* Still within my possesion.
