Ace 250 tone ID question

Is it supposed to be the same pitch for dime as for a nickel? The only difference I notice is the dime gives a wider beep. Thanks! HH, George (MN)

The nickel will give basically the same tone as for a pulltab. There is a very slight variance but you have to listen close.

silver and midtones on nickles, pulltabs, gold, foil and low tones on iron and such.

Should a quarter be a higher pitch than a nickel? Can't find that info anywhere. The only difference I get is a dime or quarter is wider than a nickel. I don't know if that means my detector is defective? Please let me know if othger coins have a higher pitch (audio frequency) than a nickel or if they're all same. I can't find a description of the Belltone. Thanks! George (MN)

On a nickel you get a beep, on silver a belltone, which is like a bell ringing.
