Ace 250 red clay test

Tabcollector

New member
I have been using the Ace 250 for about a year now, I live in N.C where it is mostly red clay. I was bored today after work and figured I would do some testing in the back yard. I took a dime, nickle, quarter, and gold ring buried them about 3 inches, well the dime and quarter chimed in right but the nickle and ring also gave the bell tone although they bounced around a little, they never did sound in the tab nickle range. I thought maybe it was the detector but once out of the ground they air tested right, and it didn't matter what the sensitivity was. So I guess the minerals in red clay affects lower conductivity targets the most. If anyone has had any of the same results I would like to hear them. Thanks
