ace 250 questions

Hello I just acquired a new ace 250 and went to a friends back yard to try it out.Did what the manual told me but with the senstivity set at 4 or 5 all the machine did bas bong bong bong steadilly as I passed it along the ground. Now I know there is plenty of junk in his yard but how in the world will I find coins and jewelery. So I then decided to lower the sensitivity to 2 and that was better.Do I have an over sensitive machine or are they all like this?

I just got mine also and found it to be a little to chatty, I got used to it real fast however. Here is an idea. Mark out a 5 by 5 foot square. set your sensitivity to 2 and ID all of your targets in say, realic mode. Dig them as you ID them and take notes. Kick up the power one notch and do the square again and again. You will figure it out. Also I have read that power lines can really cause grief on these unts if the sensitivity is high.
Hang in there man, this is one superb machine.
Iron is evil, if the pinpoint wanders you can bet that it is iron or a jagged piece of aluminium, or gold <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">

They are extremely sensitive and they will null out on big iron and junk.
