When using the pinpoint mode where do you line up to search?

Here we go with the Red Dot, Green Dot thread again. There's 2 schools of thought here and I've been able to use both methods successfully, although I have been more accurate using the notch in the center of the coil. Others have been more successful using the upper tip of the inside coil. Do a search using Red Dot and see what you get. But really, just more time with it will get you going with what works best for you.

The easiest way is to scan the target side to side until you get the strongest signal then drag the coil straight back until the instant the signal quits. Watch the signal intensity on the display and jockey the coil back and forth slightly until the blocks line up all the way across. The Target will be under the center tip of the inside oval on the coil.
