Hey everyone. New to the board and newish to MDing. I got semi into it when I lived in Arkansas but haven't done anything with the hobby since 2005. I moved back to Central Illinois in 2008. I ordered an ACE 250 last week and she just arrived today. Going to an old house site at my parent's farm to see what I can find tonight. Wish me luck!

Good luck LOL let us know what you find!!:detecting:

Have fun....the Ace will get you some goodies if you know what it's telling you !!

Good luck with your adventure . Did you get the Package deal with the all the goodies? If you dont have a pinpointer get one. I still use my 250 as my back up . Heres a couple pics of 4 months detecting of half the stuff I found last year with the Ace

you will like your ace 250 i like mine happy hunting :super:

If you get the bong-bong effect when swinging try to make a completely level swing and lower your sens. as it helps..Lots of bang for the bucks..

I went out in my back yard and found about 15 or so modern pennies before I headed out to the old house site. I found tons of trash like beer cans and old metal pieces off farm equipment, but no coins. I did find an old metal button and a shiny tag with "C.I.M.S Ltd. Peoria, IL" stamped into it. Its not magnetic so I'm not sure what metal its made out of. I googled CIMS and it stands for Central Illinois Mortuary Services. There aren't any graveyards anywhere near the old house site. My parents had the place burned down in a controlled burn with the fire department then everything was pushed into the cellar about 12 years ago. I believe they had some fill dirt moved in so most of the good stuff is probably too deep. I'll get some pics up when I get off work. I was searching in coin mode with the sensitivity on 4 bars.

I ordered the detector from Kelly Co so it came with some low quality headphones pouch and a plastic scoop. I went to harbor freight and picked up a pin pointer earlier this week.

Welcome and good hunting. You cannot go wrong with the harbor freight pin-pointer.Had mine for a good year and a half.It out performs quite a few of the expensive ones!I also have the ACE250 ,love it great machine! The guys on here are all great, they will help you with any questions you may have, they have a great deal of expertise and knowledge! Good hunting Wayne
