ace 250 pinpointing

Question for all you 250 users. With the 6.5 /9 coil i just can not get the hang of pinpointing. Have used other detectors, silver u max, a garett
550. With the sniper coil i pinpoint well. Any ideas? Thank you

You have to pinpoint like you do with a DD coil off the front tip. Center the target then drag the coil straight back wiggling it side to side an inch or so as you do. When the signal stops the target will be under the front center tip of the inside oval on the coil. Takes a bit of practice but is dead on.

The pinpoint area matches the shape of the inner coil. So it's an oval.
The most accurate method is the usual "pull back until the tone quits"
method. Also, sometimes it helps to reset the pinpoint mode, by repressing
the pinpoint button. This will effect the tuning and sensitivity. Sometimes the
mode will be too hot, and detuning can help and make things appear less
broad. The most critical part comes when you near the cut off point.
Being as the shape is an oval, the side to side measuring at the narrow tip
is critical to accuracy. Once you get the hang of it, you can be quite accurate.
You might want to try putting a coin up on a box or something, and practice.
That way, you can test yourself, and also see what it does at certain points
of pinpointing. Yep, with the sniper, it's just "X" marks the spot..
The larger 9x12 Garrett coil acts exactly the same as the stock 6.5x9 coil.
It's just bigger.
