ACE 250 or ACE 350 to use in Rental Business??

I live in a tourist town with 2 large beaches....South Haven, MI...located on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. I have searched around and noone anywhere nearby is offering metal detector rentals, so I have decided to purchase a few to rent out. I already have 1 Garrett AT PRO and plan on buying 1 more...for water detecting. The question I have is which dry land detector to go with....either the Garrett ACE 250 or ACE 350?!? I plan on purchasing 2 of which ever model I decide on. My website is almost built, and I have already arranged with many local store owners to display a AD in their business. Any advice on which model to go with? I know I love the AT PRO and I think the 350 is using the same coil?? Advice/recommendations anyone.....thanks in advance.

The coil connector is not the same on the AT Pro and Ace 350 as the AT Pro has a waterproof connector.

I would think for Rental, the simpler the better and would recommend the Ace 250's.

I too like the 2 beaches at S. Haven and plan on using my AT Pro on them this Summer season, if it ever comes. LOL

Please don't let the tourists take all the GOLD! Good luck with your new venture!

Depends on the degree of expertise of your customers. If you have a lot of greenhorns go with the simplest machine or you'llhave a lot of disgruntled folks.

If you want to rent to the public and they just want to detect simple things. My advice is to go to a menards store and buy there $70.00 now on closeout for $44.00. They have the China models called Master something. In this way your not renting anything out that is expensive to non detectorists. Just an idea. Hope this helps. I to live in Michigan but in the U.P. on Lake Michigan.

I can' t go cheaper then an ACE 250...I searched around and the 250 seems to be the detector rented by most places that rent detectors. I have a company that warranties them even for accidental damage...and no deductible. At the end of the season I have buyers wanting the used detectors, then next year if a decent year....do it again.

Looks like you have all bases covered with insurance deposits and the like...Ace 250 would be my choice as best bang for the bucks and user friendly at best...Several years ago one fellow was bilked out of several expensive ones not having all bases covered while renting...Good luck in your venture....
