Ace 250 or 350???

Buying a new detector in a few weeks for coin shooting parks and old houses in nc. Looking at the 250 but was considering the 350. Any thoughts on which one I need for coin shooting?

As a great coin machine I dont think you can beat the 250 over the 350,It was my first detector and I still go back to it for coin shooting,Wayne in delaware

Yeah, the Ace 250 is a great coin shooter. My wife runs circles around me with hers. The Ace 250 would indeed be a better coin detector because it has a broader coin resolution (on the right side of the conductivity scale) and it comes stock with a concentric (round/elliptical) search coil.
The Ace 350 comes stock with a double "D" (wide scan) search coil which causes bottle caps (crown caps) to give a higher coin signal. So if you use a stock Ace 350 you'll be diggin' a ton of bottle caps in the park.
The Ace 250 with it's stock concentric (round/elliptical) search coil will ignore bottle caps in the coin and jewelry modes.
The Ace 350 was designed to be an economical RELIC metal detector.
Best of luck to ya whichever machine ya decide to get.
Happy Hunting!:)

The 250 is a great detector. I just traded mine in for the 350 and love the
larger coil. If you can afford it I would go with the 350 just because it will
go deeper for relics...great for coin shooting as well. The 250 gives some people
a problem with pin pointing but you will get used to it after awhile. The 350 is
exceptional at pinpointing the target. You can pinpoint off the tip of the coil or
find the target dead center where the rod connects to the coil.

You can't go wrong with either detector. There aree VERY well made and durable
machines. The best buy of ANY machine or brand in my opinion.

I've also been looking at the at pro. but If the 250 will get the job done on digging up coins then I rather save the $400.

personally id go with the 350
decrease your sensitivity and depth and increase your discriminate to barely pick up a penny
otherwise youll be trash digging
but i always set mine to almost miss a penny but still can get a rapid tone...but youll notice the clads roll right up for you
and silver will blow the top off the detector....haha

I use the 350 it is a awesome relic detector for the money, with the sun ray PP mounted on shaft is sweet set up ! GL

I have the 250 and spent the weekend digging trash out of a park and a beach here in Japan where I am stationed with the navy. I did find a lot of coins too. I got about 2500 in Yen and about $12 in us coins over the past 2 days. I say the 250 is outstanding for digging coins. I would say 1 of 4 ttys was a coin.
Good luck.

The AT PRO over the Ace 250?
If there is a chance in H$#@ to may go
gold prospecting, the Pro will find those nuggets.
The 250 won't do it. Iff all you do is mostly coin
and relic detect, either the 250 or 350 will
serve you well.

I don't think you could go wrong with either machine. I have the 250 and it is a great "coin shooter". If I remember correctly the 350 is geared more towards relic hunting as I think (going from memory on this one and I could be and often am wrong) it has more notches for iron discrimination. But like I said either would do the job well.

I just bought my Ace 350 and I'm getting use to it. I was going to get two Ace 350 but the sales person at Kellco advised me to get another brand ! He claimed that if we got to close the would as he put it talk to each other! Looking back I should I joined this forum before I pulled the trigger ! Goes with out saying your never to old to learn !

Just adding firewood to the fire:
Besides the digital number readings, what else does the AT Pro have that the ACE 250 and/or ACE350 has?
(I might get an AT Pro soon).
