ACE 250 issue

CCSJr

New member
Hello everyone, I just bought an ACE 250 this weekend. I was wondering if anyone else has had the issue that I am having and I was wondering if it was just a common thing with metal detectors.
The issue I am having is that the metal detector although it does detect fine also seems to go off in places where I am pretty sure there is nothing and also seems very erratic, could I have maybe got a defective coil? I am planning on calling Garrett tomorrow, but I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

Sounds like you need to drop your sensitivity. I have a hard time using the detectors with target segments. I bought my daughter an Ace 250 last Christmas and although it is a proven detector when I use it I want to wrap it around a tree because of the same thing. But dropping the sens does seem to help.

Try dropping the sens to four bars .
