Ace 250 interesting air test

Due to our long winters up here in Ontario Canada I am unable to do any hunting with my new 250, but have been doing some air tests. While testing our clad coins 5,10,25 loonie and twoonie I found while they are flat or on a very slight angle they give a nice bell tone , the curser is a bit jumpy, but this alerts you thats its a clad coin. When they are at a greater angle or on edge they give a bottom of the scale iron sound so they would be missed when hunting in any mode but all metal. I would be interested to know if the same is true for the American clads. Thanks Ken

They read much differently in the ground. Air tests are just a generalization of what might be under ideal conditions and is no way conclusive.

In the ground the coin would have a Halo like effect making it appear bigger to the detector......so it would read as a coin and not iron.......I have hit my test garden with the 250 and it has no mor of a problem than any other detector finding coins on edge.
It certainly is a very good machine for the price.
