Ace 250 In The UK

Tarot

Member
Hi Everyone

I have been thinking of purchasing the Ace 250 and have been amazed by the finds from parks by you guys in the US.
Park searching is pretty much a non starter over here, and we are restricted mainly to farm land.
Could any UK users tell me how does the detector cope with Uk searching conditions eg on Roman sites, and how does it respond to our older coinage eg hammered silver and Roman bronze.

Regards Tarot

The only drawback you might encounter with an ACE 250 over there is the inability to ground balance your detector. The ACE series has a factory set ground balance that is probably compatible with most common soil conditions in the states. It does not perform well where there is highly mineralized soil conditions. Assuming that there are no adverse conditions to contend with in your area, it should do exceptionally well on silver and bronze as well as any other metals you might encounter. AT the seashore it does well in dry sand but has trouble handling wet sand because of the salt content. The ACE 250 is probablly all one would need most of the time. I have no trouble reading target hits at 8 to 10" if you are concerned about depth. Jim

Thank you for your reply Jim, with your advice regarding ground balance issues.
