Ace 250 in Northern Nevada

nevada

New member
Hi does anyone know how the Ace 250 will work in Northern Nevada considering we have high mineralization in our soil? I am looking to find coins and jewelry thanks for any information?

John, I also live in the Northern Cordillera, yup the ground can be bad. I'd be inclined to find a detector with a manual ground balance for the heavy mineralization soils, such as the Scorpion. The Scorp make a fine coin machine and of course you can always prospect with it too! The Ace's sensitivity can be turned down to cope, though with loss of depth.

Unless it's ulta high you should have no problem. Here in the Northwest our soil is all volvanic and "hot" and the 250 works well here. Course if you're working in gold bearing areas with really high mineralization you might have a slight problem. If you're just coinshooting you probably won't be in any areas of high mineralization and the 250 will work great.

Bill.

The Scorpion Gold is reasonably priced as well
but unlike the Ace, it doesn't have the VCO pinpoint, something
I prefer. Lot of people are having a great deal of success with
the Scorpian.

A friend who moved to Nevada last year, uses the Infinium. He's not a coin/jewelery hunter though. It's the only machine has ever used, so haven't heard about other detectors. I know it's nothing like an ACE.
If you know your going to be dealing allot with high mineralization, I'd think about about not going preset GB.
