Ace 250 gold finds

Started aug 2009 to present. Not much but I wanted to post before i scrap it. The price of gold is up and I want to buy
a water detector. The 10K ring is what got me hooked the first time out, in the dry sand at the vollyball court. The best find is not here because i lost it
by the time i got to the car. large 14K mens ruby ring with 2 diamonds. Darn it I'm still kicking myself.

The 14K earring was found by my son as i detected. "Thats my boy"

Happy Huntings, Epi

Those are really nice. Do you search in a/m mode? I use the relics mode exclusively.. Had a few gold items give the ":boop" iron signal. Looks like that water detector is close to had,

Get a second opinion when turning in gold for scrap. I was getting robbed for a bit by one dealer. 3rd time selling I took the same loot to a second place and they offered me almost 100$ more. I was shocked.

It sucks finding and then losing a ring. All that work WE put in to finding something good,,, and then lose it,,,, OH man,,,NOOOOO.:nopity:

I never lost one but once when me and a friend was detecting. When we was done and walking to the truck. He wiped the dirt of his hand on the way. When we got to the truck he says,,,OH chit,,,,I just flung my ring off my finger a second ago.
It was dark at this point ,,good thing we had some detectors with us.:heh: We did find it,,but it was not easy in the dark.

I never thought it was a good idea wearing any jewelry while searching for lost jewelry. Plus if you have rings on your fingers it makes it hard to run a handful of dirt over the coil if needed.

I take my wedding band off-my wife takes my head off!:lmfao::rofl:

I've never wore mine since I got it. I'm a remodeling contractor and I told her I would tear it up. Now 20 years later and 40 pounds heavier it won't fit anyway. :lmfao:

Do you ever go to the other settings like coins, jewelry, zero or relics? Like if you run into a hot rock?

Would you use something different on a beach than all metal?

Does using all metal when you are using the sniper coil means greater depth?

I forgot to congratulate you and your son on your gold finds. WTG. The real treasure is spending time together and having fun. Happy Hunting.

I have used coin mode at an old church with hundreds of nails and when i accidentally hit the mode button ,have searched in other settings but eventually
realize I'm not in A/M.

I recently was beach hunting using my water unit. I met a new detectorist using a BHunter. I told him i also use an Ace250 and said he was thinking of buying one.
So, i offer to sell him mine since i have 2. I put it together and start swinging the snipper coil showing him all the targets (trash)in the picnic area.

I ask him to test his ring, which is a good size14K white gold band.Swung my coil and nothing not a peep, lay it on the ground nothing. He takes off his chain and it beeps.
Then i realize it's on coin mode i put it on jewelry mode an bingo it hit on pull tab.
I have not used the 250 in a while as i have been water detecting and could not believe in did not hit on the ring. All the rings i have test and found have hit on nickle.Eventually ,I remembered
that I always search in A/M so i won't miss anything. "Blew that deal"

I have read here on the forum that it is not true all metal so i don't think it has greater depth.I have hit on quarters 8"-9" in wet wood chips and mud might have been deeper.
Not a solid hit all the time, but at least twice and i know it was not on the side, after 6" i checked my hole with my pin pointer and the target was straight down and kept on digging.

Very nice. I'd beat myself up forever if I lost a gold ring. I lost a junky German coin I had found once and went back to find it the next day.
