My 2nd time ever trip out with the 250 only an hour at a playground using all metal mode.Hey I found this stuff not much but I found it. The round ball I think is a ball bearing, the bottle cap from a Tequila bottle ?? at a playground .I think I found the hangout lol

Hunt in coins mode and you won't find so much junk. In all metal you'll find every piece of junk that was ever dropped.

Yea your right I also found little pieces of foil to.Just learning and figure I need the practice and don't want to miss rings and such.If I get a hit I can always switch to coin and see whats up right?

You won't miss rings. They'll just ring up under different ID's - like pulltabs, foil, etc. I've got about 200 rings and I didn't find them in all metal.

I think the SPAM key might be worth a few bucks.

Keep swingin' and digin' Frank. When you start finding some good stuff (and you will) you'll be hooked.

good first time out you got coins & your fist two pull tabs to start your collection off  the first time i went out i found a bit of solder & some rusty nails :heh:

Consider running in Jewelry or even Relic... you'll dig less of that rusty stuff. The Garretts are pretty good about DISC'ing it out.

And in case you were inclined to worry, you will still get plenty of pulltabs, can slaw, pencil erasers, chunks of foil, shotshell bases, car keys, .22 LR and other assorted cartridge casings, nickles, round tabs, bullets, screwcaps, zipper pulls, innumerable whatsis or even the odd and very occasional piece of gold.
But, and it's a big but, you will get less of the ferrous crapola.

The best reason for the NO DISC mode is if you think you are getting masking because of ferrous clutter. It really helps you to get a feel for that.
Otherwise, with a Garrett, it really aint neccessary to suffer through it any more than you must.

great start Frankd55 , If ya dont wanna miss any goodies hunt in AM and digg all good repeatable tones above iron you'll dig plenty a trash but you wont miss the treasure
