Ace 250 finds a turtle!....

slingshot

14K gold one, that is! I was in a tot lot and in the Relics mode w/sensitivity at #4 when I got a two-way "foil" signal. It has two red stones for eyes, and 4 diamond-looking stones around the clasp. My Silver umax gave a weak signal in lowest disc., as did my Royal Sabre. My BH Tracker gave only a slight blip. I don't think I would have found it in the jewelry mode. Thanks for looking.

A very unique find Slingshot, makes for a good day.It looks like you had the right machine in your hands for that hunt.

Thought I was going to see a snapping turtle locked down on you're coil  Congrats on the gold

That's great, but I have to ask-did you test it on different machines at home or do you actually carry 4 or 5 machines with you when you hunt?

The ace 250 is really hot on gold. I own 12 detectors-been detecting 31 years- and the ace 250 is my choice when looking for gold jewelry.....Jack

I just got off vacation last week and had FOUR detectors in the back seat. I had my Royal Sabre, Silver umax, BH Tracker (Walmart version), and, of course, the Ace. Something happened back home last nite that I didn't expect, though. I did a retest on the turtle earring I found and the Silver umax responded just as well as the Ace. Apparently, the soil being moist gave me a stronger reading in the tot lot-so the air tests weren't a good comparison. In fact, the Royal, which doesn't have the ED-120 responded just as well. The Tracker just couldn't get a good signal because it's preset discrimination at the lowest level is closer to foil. Here are four pics: (!) Ace, (2) Silver umax, (3)BH Tracker finds that I had on 3 different days. You can see why I have a hard time deciding on detectors. I just choose the one that I feel is right for the location on any day.
