ace 250 falseing at the beach

Make sure the coil is clean between the coil and cover, lower it to three bar bars and see if that helps.

did you remember to notch out everything to the left of the nickel,on the ace250?This always works in wet sand on my ace250. HH Wayne in Delaware

Are we talking salt or fresh water? if you are anywhere near the water line (salt) it will false. You will either have to stay high and dry or buy another machine with more control over ground balance. I've tried using the 250 down here on the beaches on the gulf, and it drove me crazy! Just my opinion...

i am talking salt water beach action. i am going crazy.... its great on land. but in wet sand ahhhhhhhh.... thanks guys for your responses. good luck and stay dry...it raining in L.A.

The Ace 250 should be just fine on dry sand. ALSO don't forget to bring your pin pointer. The target is probably there.

Yup...Ace 250 is not so great on Wet salt water sands, or in the surf...Keep above the water line, and you should be OK...

HH,

Place the coil on the wet sand then turn on the machine and leave it on the sand for a few seconds, this seems to work for the guys down here (OZ). Keep the sensitivity to two or three bars and try not to bottom out the coil on your swings, hit a bump in the sand and it will still give a false hit.

This works for my 350, also, remember that your 250 may be picking up on small items that you don't see, small bits of shredded aluminium that become oxidized can be hard to distinguish especially in low light conditions. Detecting on a beach with a lot of trash can be very frustrating, try moving higher up the beach to the dryer sand but staying in the tide zone. Work that for a while then move back down towards the waterline.

Also, do an air test on your machine with the common coins and any gold or silver jewellery you have at home and write up a cheat sheet of just how your machine reacts, this can be a great help as you can immediately look up what your machine is telling you rather than guessing what the signal means. Check out this video and see the flip card that's attached to the top of the ACE 250.

Like everyone else said,,turn the sens down,,,,the wet sand magnifies everything,,,it will still pick items up deep,,you will be amazed. Its like hunting on dry land with sens turned up all the way. You will get false signals. 4 bars is still too high in sand.
I prefer to use zero disc,,,and choose my targets that I want to dig. There are many small jewelry items that will ring in low,,below nickle. Like small gold chains,,,,they show up terrible for the most part.
