Has/does anyone us the ACE 250 with the bigger coil?? and if so do you find it better/worse and or deeper??

Ace Detector 9" X 12 ProFormance Detector Coil or the

Ace 8.5x11 DD Coil

thanks folks and a merry Christmas and Happy new Year to everyone

That really depends a lot on the kind of hunting you are doing. For shallow coin shooting, and large open areas the 9X12 is not only better, but it is hard to beat in my opinion.

The 9x12 will detect coins 2-3 inches deeper than the stock coil and covers a larger area
per sweep.
I've never tried the 8.5x11 DD, but from what I've heard, I would rather have the 9x12
I think. The DD's can be bottle cap magnets, and in theory, the 9x12 should go slightly
deeper being as it's physically the larger of the two.
It might even cost less $$$$ to boot, but I haven't checked the price on the DD.

I use the Excellerator coil on my 250. Not sure of the dimensions but it dwarfs the stock coil.
Not much more weight than the stocker and it really covers a healthy patch of ground per sweep. Pinpoints exactly like the stock and does get down far past the depth of the stock.

Have had the DD coil for a while now and yes it does go deeper and I love it. Since MAY this year I have found $415.00 in clad alone with my ACE250.

thanks folks thats the info i was looking for. Have been thinking of getting the bigger coil for some time just wondering if it made much difference, and it seems it does.

thanks all.

and Happy New Year to everyone
