Ace 250 and Lone Star are not the best of friends.

I'm not sure why this happens.. Is it that the Ace 250 is much more sensitive than the Bounty Hunter Lone Star, or does the Lone Star throw off some signal that the Ace doesn't like?

The Bounty Hunter stays silent while the Ace goes crazy!

These two machines have to be at least 10-15' away from each other while hunting otherwise the Ace chokes.

They are "clashing" because they're both the same frequency of 6.5kHz.
This is why some detectors have frequency shift switches to counter
this effect, especially on units used for club hunts around many other
detectors. When this occurs, it's always one or the other that is most
affected, simply a function of variations in the EM field surrounding the
coils. These fields have various perturbations within the frequencies
involved, causing interference with each other. Sorry, it's just the
way detectors are (not evident with pulse units). This effect is not inherent
with unlike frequencies, so the main remedy is to stay a certain distance apart.

Thanks Wayne!

I figured it was EM interference, but I thought that they would both start singing to each other.

I wonder what would happen when 2 Ace 250's come in contact with each other? I plan on adding another weapon to my arsenal soon so that I can bring friends out on hunts.

I am debating on adding another 250 or wait a bit and get a GTI2500.
