I thought I would post this arm cuff extension I've been working on to my Garrett buddies. It helps with fatigue and reduces the coil heavy feel. Also shifts the balance point 3 inches closer to your grip. Being longer it reduces the torque on your arm. Now the cuff fits on the big area of your forearm for a better fit. I call it the Garrett Gizmo. What do you think?

:thumbup:Cool! I would buy it. Anything to make it possible to detect longer with less fatigue!

I could have purchased curved headed bolts but those were too pricy. I opted to keep the costs down on this bolt. But I didn't spare any costs on the American made 6061 aluminum. I could have also used some cheap tubing and punched some holes in it. But I wanted to build something that was solid. This will last a lifetime.

Not to get me wrong...I like the device, and I think a lot of others will too....Yeah...Panheads are more expensive...

No problem. I looked into getting those curved headed bolts. The kind that is used for tubing and pipes. They were too expensive. Also since I use a nylock nut there is no place to hold the head except for pliers. So I opted for off the shelf regular stuff. Your forearm is no where close to the bolt head so all is good. Thanks for the reply!

khouse i have an idea for your bolt issue. try a toilet bowl mounting bolt and put it to the grinder then make an idention in the detector rod to make the bolt flush on the top.

That would work except toilet bolts (closet bolts) come in 1/4 and 5/16. My bolts are 3/8 inch in diameter. But there isn't an issue at all with my bolts. Your arm doesn't even come close to it. So to keep costs down this set up is optimal.
