Ace 150 or Ace 250, differences, and which do you prefer and why?

I am mostly a coinshooter, looking for a simple coin machine, like the meter but not programmable machines.
I have heard that the Ace series are good for parks/schools type detecting since they have good recovery time
between targets and hit hard on gold range stuff, and their depth on coins is decent. What are the main differences between the 150 and 250? Does
anyone prefer one over the other, and what are your reasons? What do you think of the Ace series for coin/jewelry hunting
in general?

Any info would be appreciated.

Mark

I believe they are the same but more disc options on the 250. I love the Ace very light and easy to use.

No pin point feature on the ACE 150
No custom and relic features on the 150
No disc and elimination on the 150
1 less depth indicator on the 150
,indicating only down to 6 inches only verses 8 inches on the 250
Less sensitivity on the ace 150 only 4 bars
while the ACE 250 indicate 8 bars
target indication only 5 notches.verses 12 on the 250
More of a basic detector.

For $50 more dollars you get $200 more features. Buy the 250! Get a propointer if you can swing it.

To me, the #1 most glaring difference is a lack of a pinpoint mode on the 150.
It also has less resolution as far as the notches, etc, but I find that less of a problem.
All that means is you have bigger and less slices of the conductivity range pie,
but if you ran it wide open, it would be the same as running the 250 wide open.
The 250 just gives you finer and more slices of the range to be able to notch.
Being I run mine almost wide open most of the time, that means less to me
than it might others.
As far as depth, seems to me they should be about the same being as
they are using the same coils, and most likely the same basic RF unit.
If I had a 150, I'd probably run the sniper coil a whole lot. That way the
lack of a pinpoint mode is not much of an issue. But using the bigger
coils on the 150, while quite usable, can be a pain when pinpointing,
and one is likely to dig a bit bigger holes.
With the 250, pinpointing is quite precise once you get the hang of one.
So... For me, it was the 250 hands down. I never even gave the 150
serious thought being as the price difference is not huge for the extras
you get on the 250.

Oh yea, your last ?... Great for coin/jewelry hunting. But I use mine for
relic stuff too. That's where the bigger coils can come in handy.

The 250 hands down. Has more features plus pinpoint, which you definetly need with this series. Plus if you sell it you'll get a lot more bucks as it is still in demand. Garrett sells a trainload of them.

I really dont even know why they make the 150. The 250 is so low priced and not much more than the 150 anyway and it offers so much more. The 250 is great but as target ID machines go , it has the bare minimum of abilities and features and if you strip away any of those then it isnt so great any more....might as well get a bounty hunter.

For the extra bucks loaded with much more features and may be the most bang for the buck in the industry....

Don't know why they don't do away with the 3 modes and have it like they had the GTA 300- you just add or subtract and put your own program in. THEN, I would definitely have gotten the 150. Especially if they kept the tones. You would only have to change one or two icons to go to a/m, relics, or jewelry mode anywho.
