Ace 150 and AT PRO - New Kid

Hi everyone ,

I picked up the 150 about a month ago when I was on vacation in Bethany Beach Delaware . I had no clue what I was getting myself into ! Hurricane Irene had just came through and noticed alot of stuff washing up onto the beach. That was the end of life as I knew it . I spent hours on the beach that weekend finding a few coins and went back the following weekend to search under the boardwalk . It was obvious no one had been there in quite a long time by the amount of change that I found , ALOT !!! That was it , I was hooked . I came home to Northern VA and proceeded to dig up my yard finding more coins and misc items , teaching myself to dig in grass and dirt without any damage to the yard . I got really good at it so I decided to graduate myself to a local park feeling confident in not tearing up there grass . Guess what ? More coins , mostly pennies but still a variety . Any trash I dig up gets saved and thrown away as I leave and it looks like I was never there . So far 289 coins and misc items excavated in a few weeks .

I started looking for a new detector almost immediately after I got the Ace 150 , Being very patient not to jump into anything I waited .Finally I happened to find someone selling there AT PRO at a great price much to my liking. After watching the how to videos :) and playing with it for a couple days , I decided to take it out to my uncles property near Warrenton , VA . After 4 hours of hunting I came home with 32 casings , 1 old wood splitting wedge , some aluminum about 8 inches down , a tin bowl I think , and an old plow blade that had a tree growing on top if it ! Supposedly the property used to be mined for quartz , and a long time before that Indian battles ? I plan to go back again soon to see what else I can find !

As for the ACE 150 and the AT PRO , They are both great machines and I love them both but they are different worlds . After today I understand The Pro alot more , I left it in Pro mode Zero with iron audio on and my discrimination set at 30 . I dig everything so I can learn what to expect and the tone of the items coming out . I know that 63 and mid tone is telling me its another bullet casing I really don't want to dig :)

Thanks eveyrybody I enjoy the stories I read on the forum and wanted to share some of my own !

[size=large]pace yourself. that AT PRO will wear you out. if your looking for relics you may want to use std, zero disc. and iron no or off. depends on how much noise you can stand. read back on the AT PRO forums and see what the setting sare from most of the hunters.

Very nice!:thumbup:You're off to a great start!:detecting: Great clad haul!:clapping: Nice finds!:super:
Thanks for sharing!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

After using various pro modes with iron from 25 to 40, discovered it's much better ( for
me anyway) to use pro zero with iron off and discrim at 0. Iron still sounds off like it should but the detector isn't trying to cover it up. I'm hitting more deep (10+) targets running with this setup.
