accuracy on the gti2500

Ive had my gti2500 for 6 months now,and I have never dug a pulltab, bottlecap, toy car or soda can smashed flat, however, I have found rings and coins. The monitor read:quarter size"B" at 8 inches. Sure enough, Idug down approx. 8 inches, and there it was....a quarter encrusted in patina.
If you want to buy a detector to locate junk items like: bottlecaps, belt buckles and smashed pop cans ,then pick up a dfx,if not choose "GARRETT".

That's quite a claim to make Mark. How does the 2500 tell the difference between pull tabs, bottle tops and coins? I assume that these would all show up in the smallest size in the profiling feature?
Thanks.
Mick Evans.

I wonder how many good targets you may have passed up that read as junk.

Sure you may not have dug junk, but my guess is you have left some good things behind!

He detects to the ability of his detector. He's in control of his finds and the detector will do what he claims it's doing.

Seems to me that he's a happy camper sold on the benefits of the GTI 2500.

My Garrett GTI 2500 does the same thing his does if I want it too. BUt I haven't quite achieved his confidence yet and I'm still digging a lot of junk....But I did find a Civil War NCO sword belt buckle that was from an obvious downed Officer. If I hadn't been digging junk that day...I would not have pulled this one out of the ground. Masking had it separated from Iron and pull tab...It gave an odd signal I couldn't resist digging. Boy am I glad I did. Some people go a lifetime looking for one of these....I got blessed because I did junk too! It does help uncover masked items in the long run. I guess I'm just a believer in digging everything...Although it's great to realize that when I get a little older, and I don't feel as though I have the energy to dig it all...I can go to our brothers option and be happy with Garrett's GTI 2500 digging good targets only methode.

Sounds like a great plan! :detecting:

I remember the first trip out with my GTI1500. I was at a little ole church off on a side rode. I was listening and trying to learn this detector when I got that good ole belltone signal under the dime icon. Pushed the pinpoint button and swung it over the target. It said B size at 4". Dug down and lo and behold out popped a silver dime. Found one more silver dime at that church that day at 4" and the soil was chert. Amazing that a coin could get down 4" in chert. Been a believer ever since! Swing this thing long enough and you will learn that it tells you a lot!
