acc 250

Jewelry mode works great. Do some air tests and see how it reads different gold rings. Your looking for objects that read in the pull tab /nickle range. And your going to dig allot of junk doing this.

Good luck

No I have a T-2. I bought the Ace-250 as a back-up. I heard alot of good things on the Ace 250.

I use the Custom mode, which is factory set to the Coins Mode as default, and add one notch below the nickle and one notch below penny. That kind eliminates a few of the trash targets and hits most of the gold targets.

It would be a shame to have all the ID features of the Ace and operate any higher than the Relics mode-except, of course, in high-trash scenarios. The target hits seem so much crisper and instantaneous. Also, small rings and bracelets have a better chance of detection. It makes, to me, the best reason to get a 250 over the 150. Target masking seems to be handled better, also. The custom mode allows you to set it like YOU want it and it will stay in the computer until you hit the power button and hold it for a reset. My custom setting is basically the coins mode, but with the foil icon added to allow the detection of some 14k gold rings with tab rejection and I only use it in high trash areas. The best time of your life will be when you add the sniper coil to your arsenal. In some areas it makes all the difference.

As gold rings come in from low foil to high penny and even some large 10kt. highschool rings might come in close to a dime it stands to reason have to use the custom mode depending how trashy your area is and how much you want to dig as much trash imitates gold rings...Keep in mind the foil area below nickle has those thin gold womens rings with nice stones and some areas
have much less foil than the tabs region...Expect to dig a lot if you are after gold rings on land...

There is no mode for gold. If you're talking about rings and jewelry they read all over the display and mostly in the junk range.

:usaflag:You guys are making me feel like I'm missing something by not digging junk targets. And I agree. If I had a little more patience I might actually find something made of gold.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for coins, and Jewelry. Or if you are relic hunting.
I hunt for Coins and Jewelry on the Ace 250 open nickle, then open one notch above and below nickle. That takes in gold around here. Then I skip pennies and open dime and all the way up. If you are looking for Indians open penny.

You will dig a lot of junk targets. BOY you will dig a lot of junk...but in the long run it's worth it...but
you will also get worn out. I have gotten to know the soccer fields and ball parks in my area very well and can
trust my Ace 250. If it says its foil...IT ALWAYS IS. I have NEVER got gold in the foil range. That doesn't mean
it won't happen one day but not really likely where I detect. If it says pull tab its always a pull tab but I dig it
anyway just to make sure. If the cursor jumps around between .1 and 25 and pull tab, it's ALMOST always a pull
tab but sometimes its something else. Usually if the cursor stays dead on a target ID and doesn't jump
back and forth its usually just what it says it is...but not always. Dimes and pennies are so similar a .10 reading
will many times be a penny. I had a .25cent reading yesterday and it turned out to be .10 cents. The ground and how the coin is
sitting (sideways or straight up) has a lot to do with the reading as well. I have also had .25 cent readings yesterday that turned out
to be bolts. Figure that one out. The machine can only give you its best guess.
