Absolutely No Cash Value Whatsoever...

I went Friday evening for a few hours. I hunted a home that was built by a German man 1941. The main reason I hunted it was the close proximity to a very old home there in Durant. Finally broke the silver barrier this year, with a 1946. I got pics of it and then gave it to the gentleman that lived there now.

I also found a round piece of aluminum? It has
"John I. Grier" "Price 15¢" "News Service"

I almost missed a odd find... I dug a high tone that ended up being a folded piece of metal.. I was just going to chunk it into the junk pouch when I unfolded it. I was surpised... Not sure why it is on there but, cool...

Next target was this Norida compact

I found what I think is a garter clip.

It has patent dates on it 12-13-92 says Velvet Grip and also says Boston Garter.

I did find three wheats and the dates were kinda weird.
A 1927, 1937, and a 1947. I don't think I've found spaced perfectly like that.

Well I added another token to my pouch. It was at dark, I did manage to get a light an film it too..

I haven't got any info on it but I sure like the tokens... Even though it has Absolutely No Cash Value Whatsoever..lol

Those are some cool finds!

We have seen many of these no cash value tokens over the years. What we were able to find out as these were used in many coin operated machines like the older pin ball machines as they didn't give free credits, but gave you a token to play another game and were marked no cash value because they were not worth any money or it would be called gambling which was not legal.
I had a couple of slot machines that were used in Japan and they had a token that was slightly bigger than a quarter with a eagle on one side and no cash value on the other side. I see a few of these being posted as being found and it gets the old heart pumping when you see one of them as you feel you really found something. I bought 200 extra for my Slot machines for $20

What a Great Variety and Good Hunt!

Is it your norm to give the landowner your Finds?
It just depends on how bad I want to hunt.. Normally no. I have hunted about 80% of the older homes in my smaller town and the pickings are slim.. So if it takes giving a little away I don't mind, just as long as I get to photo and a chance to hunt... I really just enjoy retrieving the history out of the ground...

Congratulations on the finds. Thanks for the great pictures and my favorite was the BUFF nickle impression stamping. I'm suspecting some teenager, many years ago, putting that on the anvil and peening out that aluminum or whatever over that nickel.

That is cool!

Neat token!
