My dad and i stoped at an old fairgrounds on our way to a planted coin hunt in north Dakota and talked to a guy that was mowing the lawn there. he said that the fairgrounds have been there since they had started in 1883. He also said were people used to park and that we could go ahead and detect the grounds. so we started were he had said people used to park i was working an area and my dad made his way to the other side of the Field. He soon called me over to show me what he had found it was a 1883 seated dime that was just in great shape. so i worked that area a little bit and wasn't really finding much. so i started making my way around the Field then about half way around i Finlay got a good sounding target i dug it and it was my 1st barber dime the date on it is 1912 and it is in very good shape it almost looks like its in AU condition. I worked farther down the Field almost to were i started off at and got another good silver signal dug it and it was a 1919s merc i got up and rechecked the hole and about 5 inches away there was another good signal dug it a 1926 merc. I was getting pretty excited so i worked that area and about 7 feet away from the 2 mercs i got another good silver signal dug it and it was another 1st for me a 1878 seated dime its just about warn to nothing but its still pretty sweet. then my dad comes along and asked if i had found anything yet when i told him what i had found he was stunned and could not believe it. so we worked that area and i got another 1944 merc i also got 7 wheat's and 2 injuns. the dates on the wheat's were 1912,1919,1919s,1926,1930d,1939 and 1950d the injuns were 1899 and 1903. my dad got 3 wheat's and 3 injuns. I also found something that i would like some info on it is a disk a little bigger than a quarter and says state of at the top and Minnesota at the bottom and in the middle it has a 28 so if i could get any info on that it would be much appreciated. thanks for reading and HH:thumbup:

Nice finds! That Barber dime is in really good shape and any Seated coin, no matter the condition, is a great find. Way to go. I hope you and your Dad can hit that fairgrounds again-it sounds like a great spot. I have no idea what that Minnesota token is for. States usually didn't issue many tokens, except tax tokens (1933 - 1960s) and sometimes tags to certify the accuracy of weighing scales and that sort of thing. I hope someone can tell you more about it. HH

That seated is a real smoothie just like the last one I found but I'm happy as a clam to have it and you should be too.

Congrats  to you and your Dad.
