abandoned airfields

I have been detecting a WW2 abandoned airbase this last year and am just amazed at what I've found. Picked up a 1943 map which shows where the barracks were and lets just say it's been fun. I'm a retired USAF member and finding some of the WW2 military artifacts and three gold rings made for a memorable year. I would highly encourage anyone with access to one of these places to give it a try.
