Another steller day on the strips bro. You have done very good with them for sure. Like I said on the phone, I'm going to check out strips in "Dog Town" tomorrow. Pit bulls and 457's but I'll dig fast and keep the truck running.......ehehehe..

I have been waiting for that big silver. Easements are fun. I sure have done enough of them in Fl. and they paid off big.
I have come to realize that there aren't rings here in WV like there is in Fl. Also the coins look like crud when they come out of the ground. I have a batch soaking right now. It is always a surprise to see if they will ever get clean.

They usually are white and I know because of the ID that it is silver. The only one that came out black was the Ben Franklin half I found. It was black.

Yeah those parkways are a treasure trove. I used to hunt them a lot. May have to get back to them but I see guys around here walking up and down every block. Years ago I hunted a very old and very big park here that had been hit hard over the years. As I was sitting in my car at the curb thinking about where I was going to hunt I looked down the curb line of this park which was several blocks long and wondered if any of the many beeper swingers had ever had the brains to hunt it instead of racing into the park for some hoped for hot spot. They hadn't. I walked the full length of that park down and back, covering an area of about eight feet or so in from the curb. A few hours later I had about 300 coins with a few nice silvers. Couldn't believe that everyone had passed that bonanza by.

I once hunted a concession stand at a ball field that had a big wooden platform in front of it. There was zilch around the stand but I looked at that platform and wondered if anyone had ever moved it and looked underneath. They hadn't. The platform was solid oak but I was strong as an ox then so muscled it up and leaned it against the concession stand. You could see a lot of coins laying right on top of the ground. As I recall I pulled ten or twelve bucks from under that platform. Really made my day. One has to use their imagination in this hobby and never skip those not so obvious spots

I hunted a school one time and didn't find squat. Then as I was about to leave I noticed this two foot wide strip of grass between the sidewalk and the driveway that ran from the front of the school all the way to the street ( about 50 yards ). I bet myself no one had had the presence of mind to hit that little strip. They hadn't. It was loaded with coins and goodies including two Walking Liberty halves, a Standing Liberty quarter, a couple of Washington silvers, some silver dimes, including one Barber and some old wheaties.

Bill[/quote]I keep telling my Bro you have to think outside the box to find good treasure. I will forfit a high coin count for a silver coin any day.

Yeah the soil acids and mineralization is bad in your state. It's like that here from the volcanic soil but not as bad as where you are.
