Some other forums are doing like multiple pic posts with best/favorite finds/sites, so I thought I'd check out my hard drive & string up a few photo memories myself...

This War of 1812 Navy Button found last year at this time was memorable, & it was during testing of SunRay's 12.5" coil...

This badge, found during the Edge field test is believed to be from a Revolutionary Loyalist outfit. It depicts St. George on a horse & may be a cap box badge. I've had an offer to buy it...

This was the Year of the "Bust Coin" for me and this little half dime dated 1831 with super AU details made my day/month ;) Love those curls! (but hey it's not all polished up yet....better send it to Texas for cleaning!)

Finding a Colonial village in the woods (including this foundation) 1 day before gun hunting for deer began gave high hopes for 2006. Get lost hunters... :ranting:

This center hearth hole I hunted with the Excel since the Edge was sent back to FRL. I dubbed it the "Shoe Buckle Inn" for obvious reasons ;)

Finally, getting the chance to assist kids like this find silver coins with my Excel during a club hunt over the summer is what the hobby is all about. But it looks like Fisher may have a new cover star on it's hands! :D

BFEBL,

Grate Post!

What the heck is up with all those nice shoe buckles? I must have been scrounging around looking for the ever elusive black glass ale bottle!

It is great to see you getting our future competitors into the hobby. ;) I remember my Dad helping me with my Heath-Kit detector and the going out to the yard ..... I wish I still had that thing!

Happy New Year!

GH

did you ever find anything with it? :)
WTF? that must mean "way to find" right? Because this is a family forum....no dirty words :thebird:

a dang Toysoro, but he did better with the Excel & kids love those flames!

can't wait to see what comes from that old colonial site, how old would it be? HH and hope you have another great year of detecting, Mike

That's a great pic. Bill.....hopefully you e-mailed that to FRL marketing.
They could probably use it for the next "World News" or something...

I would fare to guess that area I like to refer to as a "ghost town" is probably late 1700's. Revolutionary times. Those shoe buckles are late 1700's. The cemetary by the 2nd mill had early 1800's dates. Nearby there's a smaller foundation that had a stone end chimney we call the 1600 hole. It's probbaly not really 1600's, but it's the oldest we've seen out there so far......
so should be fun in the spring! Plus, we've gut 1000 more acres of forest to cover ;) But we may have to keep John away from there....he always finds the reales or Tree coins :lmfao:
