A word to the wise...

Don't go metal detecting with steel toed boots on. I went twice yesterday, and both times had issues and instability....couldn't understand why...it's funny now, but it was frustrating as all get out yesterday. Put on my tennis shoes and went don to the test bed last night when I got home to "verify"....and all is well again with the V3i....and here's your sign....:rage:

Detecting 101 ........

Yep, been there, done that one too.
I put a tall mans lower rod on my coil to get it away from my steel toed boots because of that same reason.
Weekends I'll wear tennis shoes, on the way home from work I just don't take the time to changs shoes.

Yeah Larry, I can laugh at my mistakes. In this particular case...it wasnt the detector....it was the Detector:detecting:

Also I'll pic up the brass eyelets on leather boots as well but I just make sure I have my coil away from them. The V3i is super sensitive
