Old swimming pools
Many years ago when I first started detecting I thought "what about all the swimming pools that are no longer"? as I had been having luck with a few current pools I decided to find out about the older ones.
So I went to the city health dept and asked. The young gal working had no idea and then an older woman who had been there many years (tip) said "oh you mean these" - as she held up about 40 index cards. They each had addresses and dates on them for all pools had to be registered with the health dept. originally if it was a business. I wrote them all down and left.
To make a long story short - we ended up finding a number of places that were now asphalt lots, now a nursing home or shopping store, etc. But we also found a bunch that were empty lots, a couple still had the fence and pool yet, and it was surely worth all the research to do them. We dug many silver Mercs, Roosevelts, Washington , wheats & jewelry. steve in so az
