A wild idea

Has anyone ever given some consideration to starting a thread that could be entitled, "By Example", where everybody who hunts with an F75 or F70 or one of the other recent Fisher machines, describes one of their experiences in detail. Even if you didn't find anything of real value, describe what you found and all of the particulars on your machine, like what the ground balance read, what sensitivity you were using, what level of discrimination, any notches, mode, etc. Also, were you in a field, a park, etc. I realize we kind of do this now, but if we start a particular thread that we go back to add our experiences to, in order to get the subject to roll to the top again, we could more effectively compare our machines and our experiences (especially if you include your machine model in the title). Anyway, if somebody want to run with this idea I'd love to see it, but if it seems like too much work, I understand. I get these kind of stir crazy ideas when I have too much to do at work and I can't hunt cause its too hot.

Sounds like a good idea except for the fact that the thread can become quite long and unmanageable if there were posts and replies combined. What says you?

Do it on a month by month basis so at the start of the new month somebody starts a new thread or agree on the number of replies in each thread and when it reaches 20 start a new one. Each thread would be machine specific (model in the title) so that should spread it a little.

Maybe you could come up with a certain title that everyone can use for any posts that pertain to your idea. Then it would be easy to search for those posts in the archives.

How about real simple, i.e. "My example F75" plus my initials or username. So if I was starting my thread I would title it My example F75 Canewrap. If anybody had a more intuitive suggestion for a searchable title format, please, please share it.

Sounds like it would work. Curious to see what others think.

Maybe a moderator could make a thread of each detector model a sticky thread w-no replies, just posts. Not sure if that is possible and might not be as much fun though. lol!
